Transcript: A judge holds the power to sentence someone who’s broken the law, or to set one free if he determines innocence. Is this how God operates today? Scripture offers both warning and hope to answer this important question. Hello, I’m Sam Rohrer with another Stand in the Gap Minute. Psalm 50 verse 6 says, “The heavens declare his righteousness, for God himself is judge!” In biblical times, a human judge was often more than a legal decision maker. He also served as the leader of the community and held power over all laws. As God, He is the Judge of the world. It is him who decides our eternal fate. How can we be made right with God and escape eternal judgment? It’s through knowing the Son of God who forgives from all wrong and declares us justified. Romans 8:2 says “the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.” Discover more at American Pastors Network dot net.

Transcript: Do you know that the Bible actually teaches that believers are to prepare for persecution? We’re not called to avoid tough times, but rather to anticipate them. Hello, I’m Sam Rohrer with another Stand in the Gap Minute. In 2 Corinthians 4, the apostle Paul wrote he was “persecuted, but not forsaken.” He understood that he would face difficult times, just like other followers of Christ. He also encouraged believers to prepare for the hardships we face by looking forward to heaven. Paul wrote “do not lose heart” and to look to “the things that are unseen.” Our best defense against hardship is not searching for an escape, but looking forward to eternity. When we gaze at our future, we’ll be better prepared to face the challenges of the present. Persecution Series: Types of Persecution

Transcript: American Christians sometimes falsely believe we won’t really suffer for our faith like people in other countries where Believers are beaten, raped or killed for following Christ. While we may or may not, the Bible describes a variety of persecutions we may face in standing firm in our faith. Hello, I’m Sam Rohrer with another Stand in the Gap Minute. Our American freedoms allow us to worship the Lord, yet are we not already facing criticisms and mockings? In Hebrews 11, those who followed God faced challenges of exile, imprisonment, torture, death, and ridicule. God noted “the world was not worthy of them.” But one thing we often miss is that God acknowledged every persecution faced by His people as important. Whether it’s a loss of job, family, or reputation, God sees and knows when we suffer for Him. Don’t be discouraged. Stand firm whatever you face, knowing God is with you through every challenge. Persecution Series: Just Like Jesus

Transcript: While some claim faithfulness will lead to material blessing, Scripture teaches that faithful living will lead to persecution. Hello, I’m Sam Rohrer with another Stand in the Gap Minute. In John 15, Jesus told His followers that the world would hate us because we are not of this world. He added, “If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you.” As American believers, we often view adversity differently than does Scripture. Many falsely preach Prosperity Gospel and that if you’re persecuted or not materially blessed you’re not living faithfully. But this just isn’t true. Persecution’s not the exception for the faithful believer; it’s the norm. So, don’t be surprised that when you fear God and faithfully keep His commands you’ll feel resistance from the culture.
