Monday, April 19, 2021 - Train Up a Child Series: How to Train Up a Child

April 19, 2021

Transcript: Proverbs 22:6 says, “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.” Well, how do we train up our children in today’s culture? Hello, I’m Sam Rohrer with another Stand in the Gap Minute. The biblical model given to Israel in Deuteronomy 6 is for fathers to take the primary responsibility for the provision of a God-fearing education for their children. We are to teach by example, words, and actions so that our children will know who God is and what He has done. There is a strong correlation between fearing and obey God, and expecting blessing, prosperity, and security in the future. Education is not primarily the job of a school or even the church. It is the responsibility of the parents. Your involvement in your child’s education is your single greatest duty given to you by God. Discover more at American Pastors Network dot net.

Friday, May 7, 2021 - Mother's Day Series: The Virtuous Mother

May 7, 2021

Transcript: In just a few days we’ll honor our moms on Mother’s Day. Do you know there’s great reward when we honor our parents as the 5th commandment declares? Hello, I’m Sam Rohrer with the American Pastors Network and another Stand in the Gap Minute. Honoring, obeying, and respecting our mothers and fathers is so important to God that He connects this commandment with a promise of long life. The position of father and mother is sacred. Mom? Grandmother? Are you teaching your children to fear God and obey Him as you train them, as you live as wife and mother? Are you setting the kind of example that’s worthy of God’s commendation and respect from your children? I pray that this Mother’s Day all of us as children, dads and moms commit to God’s plan for family, thank Him for it and ask of him, Lord, how’m I doing? Join with us as Stand in the Gap Radio and TV in honoring God through our Mothers on Mother’s Day. Stand with us at American pastors network dot net

Wednesday, May 5, 2021 - Mother's Day Series: To Honor is to Obey

May 5, 2021

Transcript: During this week preceding Mother’s Day, it’s good to think about our moms and give them due honor. What does God say about honoring our parents? Hello, I’m Sam Rohrer with the American Pastors Network and another Stand in the Gap Minute. Since God designed the idea of family as 1 man and 1 woman in devotion to each other and if blessed of God with children, we should honor our moms in a special way if they’ve done well in raising us to fear God and walk in His steps. The 5th Commandment says to honor our fathers and mothers. But honoring is more than being thankful. To honor includes obeying them as God’s stewards over us and submitting ourselves to their direction as we would to God. When done well, the example of children obeying their parents, moms instructing their children in the ways of God are powerful.
