God Is Series: God Is Merciful

February 14, 2025

Transcript: It’s much easier to be forgiven than to ask for forgiveness. This week, we’ve looked at God’s traits and how they should impact the way we live. While God is holy, good, just and love, God is also merciful. One of the greatest marks of spiritual maturity is the ability to show mercy in response to personal offense by someone else. Hello, I’m Sam Rohrer with another Stand in the Gap Minute. One of the most challenging traits is emulating the mercy of God. Psalm 116:5 says, “God is merciful,” but what does that mean? Mercy is defined as compassion or forgiveness shown toward someone else, often from one who is stronger to one who is weaker. We are called to be merciful to those around us. Jesus promised blessed are the merciful? Why? For they shall obtain mercy. You see, mercy is part of our DNA as followers of Christ. So, let’s help others see it through our actions.
