How to be an Overcomer in the Midst of Evil

August 18, 2019

August 18, 2019 • Sam Rohrer, Gary Dull, Alex Kendrick, Pastor John Mallonnee

“What do you allow to define you?” That’s the byline of the new film hitting theaters on August 23rd called, “Overcomer”. This program features an interview with Alex Kendrick, co-writer, actor and producer of this film. You might recognize his name since he and his brothers produced other faith-based movies like Facing the Giants, Fireproof, and War Room. The new movie, Overcomer, explores the theme of identity-a word we hear quite often from the main-stream media. However, the kind of “identity” they’re talking about is based on feelings rather than the truth because we can’t really know who we are if we can’t answer the relevant questions of life- like who made me and why am I here? The characters in the movie wrestle with these questions and more as they face the challenges and difficulties life often throws our way. Then Pastor John Mallonnee shares how God used an opportunity for him to be a witness while serving on his local school board. Overcoming a Crisis of Faith with Hope in God

September 15, 2019 • September 15, 2019 • Isaac Crockett, Dr. Gary Dull, Abigail Crockett

The beloved hymn, “It is Well with My Soul” has a verse that triumphantly proclaims: Though Satan should buffet Though trials should come, Let this blest assurance control- That Christ hath regarded my helpless estate, and hath shed His own blood for my soul…” In times of difficulty or doubt, where do you turn or to whom or what do you cling? If you’re a believer, you know the answer to this question-but sometimes it’s easier said than done. Doubts and fear crop up in our minds and confusion sets in. We begin to question what we believe and why, and God seems far away-a distant, impersonal being who doesn’t understand or care about what we’re going through. On this Stand in the Gap Weekend program, we’re going to hear from Abigail Crockett, who experienced her own crisis of faith. Her story of deliverance will encourage you, especially if you find yourself in a hard place today. Host: Isaac Crockett Co-host: Dr. Gary Dull Guest: Abigail Crockett

Promise Keepers: A New Era

September 8, 2019 • September 8, 2019 • Sam Rohrer, Ken Harrison

On October 4, 1997, it was estimated over a million men assembled on the National Mall in Washington, DC to attend a conference titled: Stand in the Gap: A Sacred Assembly of Men. Even if you weren’t in attendance at that gathering, the Promise Keepers movement became well known and was mightily used of God both nationally and internationally to evangelize and disciple men in their role as singles, husbands and fathers. On this program, Ken Harrison, board member and chairman of the newly relaunched Promise Keeper movement will share more about the new leadership, but with the same vision, Promise Keepers is praying for a “massive revival and transformation” among men in a culture that has rejected the biblical role of manhood and is openly attacking masculinity and its value in an overtly feminine, self-absorbed, secular society. Host: Sam Rohrer, Guest: Ken Harrison

Challenges Pastors Face

A Story of Repentance and Restoration - Pt. 2 • September 1, 2019 • Sam Rohrer

A severe grace. That’s what Pastor Jamie Mitchell called God’s discipline in his life when he stepped down from ministry due to a moral failure. As we’re going to hear in the second part of this two-part interview, Pastor Jamie found God’s discipline was proof of God’s great love and forgiveness through a period of repentance and restoration he personally experienced where he is looking for opportunities to help the body of Christ and so many churches and pastors in need. The Mitchell's story is sadly familiar to many families in leadership who’ve gone through similar circumstances and found themselves struggling to survive amidst the loneliness and despair at the sudden loss of livelihood, friendships, and a social circle where they were respected and appreciated. Please join us for part two of this Stand in the Gap Weekend program titled: Challenges Pastors Face: A Story of Repentance and Restoration. NOTE: Contains extra material that wasn't able to be included on the radio broadcast due to time restraints.
