When You Know Who You Are
When you know who you are, you know how to fulfill your purpose. Learn about who you are in Christ, and how to live a life worthy of your calling. Discussion Guide __ 1. Which of the 4 Identity Crises do you experience the most? Explain what that looks like in your life. 2. How do you feel when you find yourself living from that identity? 3. Believing what God says about you is believing the truth. Only truth sets you free. What are some things that God says about you through His word? In other words, what does the truth say regarding WHO YOU ARE and WHAT YOU HAVE in Christ? 4. As a group, one by one, now declare that truth about yourself. After you declare who you are or what you have in Christ, how does that make you feel? What does that do for you? 5. Pray for one another, that each would live from his or her True Identity, which is now in Christ Jesus. Remove the Identity Crisis in your life by faith, trusting in what God says about you.
How To Make Decisions with God
Discussion Questions Question 1: Proverbs 19:21 says, “There are many plans in a man’s heart, nevertheless the Lord’s counsel- that will stand.” We are people who make so many decisions in just one day. Some are minor, some are major. With that said, do you initially go to the Lord throughout the day, asking Him to help you make decisions? Why or why not? Question 2: When God speaks to us, His counsel will stand because He is always right. Can you recall a time when you heard God speak to you, but it went against what you “thought” was a better road to take? Did you follow your own way, or did you surrender to God and obey what He said? What was the consequence of that decision? Question 3: Our culture is so noisy, fast-paced, and busy. God often speaks as He did to Elijah, in a still, small voice. God’s voice certainly sounds clearer and louder when we make a wise decision to get alone with God to rest and quiet our minds. If hearing God’s voice is necessary to make decisions that will bless us and others, why can it be a struggle at times to spend time alone with God? Question 4: Perhaps we shouldn’t be asking, “Why isn’t God speaking to me?” We may need to ask, “Why am I not hearing?” Based on your personal experience, do you agree or disagree? Question 5: What practical step (decision) can you make tonight that will cause you to get into a position of hearing God’s voice more clearly? Commit as a home group to keep each other accountable to continue practicing your practical step for the next month.
Vision for Victory
Life has a way of creating traps and putting us into those traps in such a way that causes us to feel powerless. In those moments, our joy disappears because we no longer are moving forward in life. God designed us like everything else in the world, to grow and to move forward continually. When we feel trapped in life and locked into sameness, we lose our victory and our joy can seemingly disappear. Some even choose to stay in God, love God and wait for the rapture and the hope that God will help us get out of the patterns we feel locked into. God wants to help you move forward into a compelling vision for your life.
The Power of Meeting Jesus
There is no denying that Jesus has the power to change lives. But think for a moment about how you came to meet Jesus. Was someone else involved in your opportunity to meet Jesus? Did someone invite you? Would your life be the same if they hadn't? You see, every single one of us who have met Jesus have the responsibility and privilege of introducing others to meet him too. The question that we'll address is - are you extending the invitation for others to meet the Jesus who changed you life?
