April 24, 2022 • Pastor Andrew Hamilton • Acts 1:9, Luke 24:45–53
40 days after the resurrection, from a top of the Mount of Olives, Jesus gave his disciples one last commission. Luke records our core verse for this upcoming week in Acts 1:9 “When he had said these things, as they were looking on, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight.”
While Jesus was talking to his disciples, he began to rise from the earth. Eventually angels broke the awkward silence of the bewildered disciples of Jesus. This weekend, Pastor Andy will unpack two questions: Did the ascension actually happen? and How does Jesus’ ascension help us fulfill our commission?
Resurrection
April 17, 2022 • Pastor Andrew Hamilton • 1 Corinthians 15:56–58, 1 Thessalonians 4:14–17, Revelation 21:1–6, 1 Corinthians 15:14
This weekend, we’re jumping back to chapter 44 of our Core52 book to focus on the Resurrection! The Resurrection is the bedrock of Christianity. If Jesus didn’t rise from the dead, all of Christianity crumbles.
Our core verse is from 1 Corinthians 15:14 “If Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain and your faith is in vain.” In this weekend’s message, Pastor Andy will address two profoundly important questions: #1 – Why should I believe Jesus rose from the dead. #2 – If this is true, what does it matter?
