We live in an age where some 80% of people say they have faith, but for whom the object of that faith is not important. An overwhelming majority of people say they believe in God, but according to George Barna only about 7-8% of people actually truly believe in Jesus as the Son of God and manifest a genuine relationship with God through Jesus Christ. The question of “Does God still speak? is therefore not some insignificant academic question since even the definition of knowing God clearly means different things to different people.
Beyond the question “Does God still speak?” the next logical question follows. If this God speaks, then how and why does He speak? Then a very practical question, how should we respond to what He is saying?

Blessed is the Man

Psalm 1 is the introductory Psalm to the other 149, the gateway to the entire Psalms. It is powerful citing two paths in life. One that produces blessedness and life. The other death. Psalm 1 is for all people of all ages. It speaks to us today. It identifies what the blessed men does and doesn’t do. It identifies what the blessed man will be like and by application how we can be like the blessed man. Also, it identifies what the ungodly or evil man is not. It concludes by saying that the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish. Stay tuned as Sam and Isaac consider the important theme, “Blessed is the Man - Psalm 1”.
