The Higher Standard

The wealthy in Jerusalem were conducting business by the normal standards for their day. Nehemiah must call them to the realization that as God's people, we must conduct business by a higher standard. All that we have is not for the purpose of profit, but of blessing others. By worldly standards this is illogical. However, God's people are called to a higher standard.

Victory and Forward

God had given the victory and the walls were built. As Nehemiah organized what God had built, he notices that the city is large but has few people in it. God gives him the idea to seek out the people to fill it. May the spiritual victories in our lives spur us toward the high calling of evangelism.
