Homeschool Families Sign up for February 12th State Capitol Tour (space is very limited). Please read all the details below. Sign up for the tour ONLY on the CCS website. All other activities you must sign up for through Homeschool Idaho the links are attached below.
For over 30 years, Idaho homeschool families have visited the Idaho capitol to highlight to our elected officials the many advantages of a private home education. There are many opportunities to get involved: Firstly you can sign up for the in-person field trips. During this guided tour of the Idaho capitol building, students will learn about state government and how a bill becomes a law. They will discover historic treasures on display throughout the capitol with special field guides. We will try to arrange for your students to meet an Idaho legislator (depending on availability). There are two time slots: Space is limited (25 spots) @11am and (25 spots) @1130am. Only count your child for the head count. Cost: Free but you have to sign up through CCS to attend a tour. Secondly your family can sign up to make homemade pie(s) for the legislators. The goal is 250 donated pies. Thirdly your child can sign up to make a student display it can be about any school subject that has caught their interest and that has been pursued with passion, i.e... coding, robotics, literature, writing, art, sports, foreign language, outdoor activities. Or your student musicians can sign up to provide a delightful atmosphere that invites our guests to linger and enjoy. If you have a student with a musical gift, we would love to give them an opportunity to perform in the rotunda of the Idaho Statehouse. Lastly you can lend your responsible teen to help with set-up and to receive pie donations, greeting, tear-down etc. This event is sponsored by Homeschool Idaho, but they could not do it without the help of homeschool families. Please note that you must sign up with Homeschool Idaho's website for all activities besides the tour. Link attached with details: https://homeschoolidaho.org/legislative-day/
