At the South Lake Church of Christ, we believe in bearing one another’s burdens and caring for those in need within our church community. Each month, we take up a benevolent offering dedicated to supporting members who may be facing financial hardships. This is an opportunity for us to reflect the love of Christ in a practical and meaningful way.
In Acts 4:32-35, we see a beautiful example of the early church practicing benevolence:
“All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had. And God’s grace was so powerfully at work in them all that there were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned land or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales and put it at the apostles’ feet, and it was distributed to anyone who had need.”
Our goal is to embody this same spirit of unity and generosity within our own congregation. If you are experiencing financial difficulty or know of someone in our church community who is, please reach out to Jerome Lynch for more details on how we can help.
Let’s continue to love one another and be faithful stewards of the resources God has entrusted to us.
