Mission: Our FFC Vision is to “reach firefighters worldwide with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and make disciples of them”. One way we do this is through training trips. We will provide training for approximately 150 Firefighters and Safety Personnel on Dingagat Island Province which is just north of Butuan City on the larger Island of Mindanao. Our travel from home and back will consist of planes, bus shuttles, other vehicles and ocean going ferries. Our training will consist of the Rescue Strap, Auto Extrication, Brush/Wildland, and Swift Water Rescue. Dates: The dates including travel are January 15 through 27, 2020. The actual training will take place from January 20-24, 2020. Your Cost • Flights • Hotel cost in Butuan City (one night) and Manila (one night coming and one going). The cost of the hotels will be shared by a roommate • Each team member will contribute $300.00 to cover trip expenses • Needed immunizations/travel medications • If you need to buy uniforms/equipment • In-country personal expenses Flights from Los Angeles (LAX), to/from Butuan (BXU), return Los Angeles • January 15, 2020: Philippines Airlines flight #113, Los Angeles (LAX) to Manila (MNL) • January 17, 2020: Philippines Airlines flight #2967 (operated by PAL Express) Manila (MNL) to Butuan (BXU) • January 26, 2020: Philippines Airlines flight #2968 (operated by PAL Express) Butuan (BXU) to Manila (MNL) • January 27, 2020: Philippines Airlines flight #112, Manila (MNL) to Los Angeles (LAX) (those of you traveling from other destinations will need to arrive in Manila on January 16, 2020 and leave from Manila on or after January 27, 2020) Requirements: • Feeling God's call to go. • A willingness to be part of a team. • A willingness to operate according to our FFC “Code of Conduct”. • A valid passport with at least six months before expiration. • Flexibility. The most important term to learn on any mission trip is to BE FLEXIBLE! On previous trips, an often heard phrase was, "We just show up." The intent of this phrase is not to say that we are haphazard in our service to the Lord, but rather to give God the glory and emphasize that it is God working through us to accomplish His plan. Much planning and prayer goes into a trip, but we have seen time and time again how God has redirected us and steered us in a direction other that what we had planned. "A man's heart plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps." (Proverbs 16:9) Oftentimes we see the immediate benefits of His redirection, sometimes we don't. But we know that as we pray and are led by Him, that we are accomplishing His will in ministering to others. Contact Joe Lindaman for more information.
