STEPS TO TRANSFORMATION

1) Recognize and acknowledge the dysfunction (Romans 12:2)

2) Repent and turn to God’s Word (1 John 1:9)

3) Yield to the Holy Spirit and connect with Godly people (Galatians 5: 22-25; Proverbs 27:17)

4) Find identity in God – Letting the old man die (Galatians 2:20)

SIGNS OF A DYSFUNCTIONAL CHURCH

1) Teaching that neglects a commitment to Godly living

2) Lack of genuine love one for another among members; discord, division and unresolved conflicts

3) Leaders focus more on personal gain than on serving the people; leaders abuse their authority or twist God’s word to fit their agenda

4) Leaders and members tolerate hypocrisy; outward appearances are more important than genuine faith and true surrender to obedience

5) Too much emphasis on worldly treasures, such as financial wealth, material possessions and societal advancement

6) There is a sense of neglect or indifference to the suffering of people in the church and community
