Esther Chapter 1 deals with the end of the reign of Queen Vashti and the circumstances that surrounded it.

In Esther chapter 2, King Xerxes, a man of extraordinary wealth and power, calms down from the decree he had issued to Queen Vashti after she refused to attend to him. As a result of her refusal, the king’s assistants proposed a search for virgins for the king to choose from. As such, commissioners from different provinces were assigned to bring all beautiful virgins into the harem of the citadel of Susa under Hegai’s watch, who was the king’s eunuch.

Esther 3

Esther Chapter 3 centers on a plot by Haman to kill the Jews.

Esther 4

In Esther Chapter 4, Esther, the Jewish queen of the Persian Empire, learns of the plot of her husband’s prime minister, Haman, to exterminate the Jews in the empire with the permission of the King.
