Today is the Feast of St. Michael and All Angels. For some, angels are remnants of an unscientific, superstitious time. For others, angels are babies with wings strumming harps. Yet God’s Word teaches that angels are real agents of God’s great power. These real angels fight a very real battle against God’s enemies, Satan and his demons. God’s victory with His angels points to the greater victory found in Christ’s sacrificial death on the cross. It is by His blood that we, and His angels, have power and victory over sin, death, and Satan himself.
