The “Christ is preached” verse 12 connects to the “gospel preached” in verse 1. Verses 1-11 set the introduction to the chapter (narratio), which tells us that Christ’s resurrection is a crucial truth in the gospel. The passage that we look at today contains the refutatio (the argument against their denial) and the confirmatio (the reaffirmation of the central affirmation).

Our journey through verses 12-34 reveal to us the necessity, the theology, and the practical experiences of our own resurrection.
