In the last message (from vv. 12-34) we focused on Paul’s teaching that the corporate resurrection of Christians is an essential and therefore necessary truth of the Christian faith. Now, he answers two questions (vv. 35-49): “ How are the dead raised?” and “What kind of body is this resurrection body?“

I think it is important to sketch 3 phases of Paul’s own journey regarding the subject of resurrection:

1.) Paul the Pharisee

2.) Paul after his conversion. He certainly believes in the resurrection. (1 Corinthians 6:14)

3.) Paul after the experience in Ephesus. (1 Corinthians 1:1-8-9)
