Let's serve New Bern & the surrounding areas!! This March, Temple Students will be growing in the discipline and practice of serving our community by participating in various service projects each Saturday.
Here's how this will work: students will register to be a part of the team, and will be committing to the March 6th Team Kickoff, and at least 2 out of the 3 Serve Saturdays. At the end of the month, we'll celebrate all the work that's been done with an Overnight Team Retreat at Camp Kirkwood outside of Wilmington!
Each Serve Saturday, we'll meet at the church for breakfast (provided) before splitting off to our various serve projects. Later in the afternoon, we will meet back up for a short session that may include worship/teaching before enjoying a meal together. Please note: students will need to BRING A LUNCH, and dinner will be provided. In order to provide free dinners to our team each Saturday, we are definitely going to be counting on parents to help by donating food items as well as serving with food prep or clean up on a specific Saturday. Our hope is that as our students serve their community, parents can also be a part of serving their students.
Students are required to serve at least 2/3 of the Serve Saturdays in order to attend our Overnight Retreat at Camp Kirkwood. At Kirkwood, we'll share a meal together on Friday night and kick off the weekend, sleep in cabins on Friday night, and then will enjoy a jam packed day of multiple activities: zipline, high ropes course, team building; it's going to be awesome! We'll spend the day at Kirkwood before heading back that evening. If your student is unable to attend 2 Saturdays but is still interested in attending the retreat, contact us if you have a special circumstance, and we will work with you! The total cost for our Overnight Retreat will be $100, and if you need financial assistance in order to make this more feasible for your family, please just let us know; we would love to work with you.

3.7- Serve Saturday: 8:00am-6pm (Camp Vandemere & Pregnancy Crisis Center in Havelock)
3.14- Serve Saturday: 8:00am-6pm (Temple Church & Habitat for Humanity)
3.21- Serve Saturday: 7:30am-3:30pm (Kennedy Home); pick-up from Dairy Queen
3.27-3.28: Team Overnight Retreat @ Camp Kirkwood [drop off at 3pm; pick up at 8pm on Saturday night]***
***These Overnight Retreat times are subject to slight change as we finalize details with Camp Kirkwood.
