Week 1: Introduction
Welcome to Moms in The Word: A 52-Week Daily Bible Study for Moms!
Week 1: The Beginning of All Things
Memory Verses for The Week: Genesis 1:27; Hebrews 11:7
Welcome to Week 1 of our Bible reading journey! This week, we dive into the foundational chapters of Genesis, the very beginning of the world and humanity. Genesis reveals to us the God who created everything from nothing and who continues to sustain and guide all of creation. The opening chapters set the stage for everything that follows, laying out God's divine purpose, His relationship with humanity, and the beginning of His redemptive plan.
As we read through Genesis 1 and 2, we are reminded that God is the ultimate Creator, and everything He made was good. From the vastness of the universe to the intricacies of human life, every part of creation speaks of His greatness. We also learn about God's deep, personal connection with humanity, as He formed Adam and Eve in His image and placed them in a garden where they could live in perfect harmony with Him.
In Genesis 3, we see the introduction of sin into the world. The fall of man, through Adam and Eve’s disobedience, affects all of creation, but it also marks the beginning of God’s redemptive plan for His people.
Even in the midst of mankind's failure, God’s grace shines through, providing a promise of hope for the future.
This week, as you read, remember that these early chapters of Genesis are not just the beginning of the world but the beginning of God's story with us. His creativity, wisdom, and love are woven through every word. May this week be an invitation to reflect on the greatness of God as Creator and the deep love He has for His creation, especially for you.
Prayer for the Week:
Lord, thank You for the beautiful gift of creation. As I read through the beginnings of this world, help me to see Your hand in everything around me. Open my eyes to Your wisdom and creativity, and help me to walk in the purpose You’ve set before me. May I reflect on Your goodness and trust in Your plan as I begin this journey through Your Word. In Jesus' name, Amen.
