Agape Feast & Communion

April 18, 2025
7:00 - 9:00pm

This Easter weekend, where we celebrate the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, we have a very intimate event planned for Friday night, April 18. This will be our fourth year hosting an agape feast and communion service.

The agape feast is a simplified and cozy time for our church family to come together and literally break bread. The meal features many of the elements which Jesus and his disciples would have had at their table during the Last Supper: soup, nuts, flat bread, hummus, fruit, and juice. As the family of God, we will enjoy this meal together, while learning about how that night, nearly 2,000 years ago, changed history, and our lives forever.

In addition to the meal time, we will also have communion. Our pastoral team will lead us in communion as part of the meal, just as the disciples and Jesus did on that fateful night. It will be a time to humble our hearts, and, in humility, honor the life, death, and resurrection of our Savior as we participate in the ceremony.

The program begins at 7:00 PM on Friday, April 18 in the fellowship hall at the church. We are asking those who wish to attend to register online, or through the church app so that we have an appropriate headcount as we prepare the food for the evening. You can REGISTER HERE. If registering online isn't your thing, you can also call the church office or send an email to the church office: secretary@eastsalemchurch.org .
