Judas betrayed Jesus for the price of a common slave and this too, was prophecied in the Old Testament.
He was crucified, died and was buried, and on the third day he rose again from the dead. This we confess. This we believe.
He was pierced for our transgressions, crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought us peace was upon him and by his wounds we are healed.
The prophecies of the messiah from the Old Testament describe the brutal suffering and torture of God's anointed to save people from their sins.
