To Be Forgiven and Saved!
July 16, 2022 • Arthur Bailey • Luke 7:36–50
In the previous teaching, “Great Faith, Prophets and Prophecy”, Luke wrote, “but the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God against themselves, being not baptized of John.” Similarly, the Pharisees rejected Yeshua’s teachings. A certain Pharisee invited Yeshua to his house for a meal and while lounging they were visited by a mysterious woman who lived a sinful lifestyle. The actions of the woman, as she ministered to Yeshua, and His silence caused the Pharisee, who invited Yeshua into his house, to question Yeshua’s discernment. What happened next gives insight into what it means To Be Forgiven and Saved. In preparation for the teaching, “To Be Forgiven and Saved!”, please read Luke 7:36-50.
The Son of God Revealed
April 30, 2022 • Arthur Bailey • Luke 3:21–38
YeHoVaH’s plan for the redemption of man was formulated before man was created. Yeshua’s atoning sacrifice for the sins of the world was established before the fall of man and hidden from the rulers of the world until the appointed time. YeHoVaH revealed His plan to Mary, Joseph, Zacharias, and Elizabeth through the angel Gabriel. When Zacharias and Elizabeth’s son John was of full age, YeHoVaH revealed His plan to John the Baptist and John began to reveal the Son of God to the world. Historically, the records revealed the lineage by which the Messiah, the Savior of the world, would come. Luke, in this portion of his Gospel record, tracks Yeshua’s genealogy back to the first man, Adam, to show the historical accuracy of Yeshua’s bloodline in this teaching, The Son of God Revealed. In preparation for this teaching, please read Luke 3:21-38.
Another Prophecy Fulfilled
January 22, 2022 • Arthur Bailey • Matthew 26:36–56
Last week in Part 2 of The Last Supper and Passover, we investigated further the conversation, dialogue, and language of the Gospel narrative of Matthew and compared statements made in the Gospel narrative of John to help determine and answer that very important question of whether the last supper Yeshua ate with His disciples was the Passover meal. We established a timeline of events that occurred while Yeshua and His disciples were together and discerned what was said and done as they shared their last supper together. After Yeshua and His disciples had eaten and done all that had to be done, according to prophecy, they went to the Garden of Gethsemane where another prophecy would be fulfilled. Yeshua was deeply troubled about the events that were about to unfold and sought a quiet place in the Garden where He would agonize in prayer for three solid hours. Yeshua’s disciples, whom He had instructed to watch and pray, after a very long day of teaching, eating, and ministry were very tired and struggled to stay awake. We will join Yeshua and His disciples in the Garden of Gethsemane as prophecy is being fulfilled in this teaching, Another Prophecy Fulfilled. In preparation for this teaching, Another Prophecy Fulfilled, please read Matthew 26:36-56.
The Last Supper and Passover
January 8, 2022 • Arthur Bailey • Matthew 26:17–36
Was the Last Supper Yeshua ate with His disciples on the night He was betrayed, the Passover meal commanded by the Torah or was it just that, Yeshua’s Last Supper with His disciples? Many people today seem to be confused about this event. As a result of their confusion, they argue, debate, and perpetuate their confusions causing babes in the faith to be confused, all because of a verse here or there containing statements Yeshua made to His disciples and interpretations of translators. In this portion of Matthew’s Gospel narrative, we will investigate the conversation, dialogue, and language of the Gospel narratives of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John to point out the important statements that will help determine and answer that very important question of whether the Last Supper Yeshua ate with His disciples was the Passover meal. In this teaching, we will join in with Yeshua and His disciples' discussions and discern what was said and done, as they shared their last supper together. In preparation for this teaching, The Last Supper and Passover, please Matthew 26:17-36.
Kingdom Eviction
October 30, 2021 • Arthur Bailey • Matthew 21:33–46
Yeshua’s interactions with His disciples, discourses with the Chief Priests and the elders of the people, and the parable of the man and his sons revealed some powerful and dynamic lessons on faith, fear, and the way of righteousness taught by Messiah Yeshua. Yeshua revealed that the Kingdom He came to bring was first offered to the Children of Israel, YeHoVaH’s firstborn, but was inclusive of all people who submitted themselves in service to YeHoVaH. According to Yeshua’s references to certain prophecies, all persons, including the eunuchs and strangers, had a part in the Kingdom. Yeshua’s lessons on faith, in reference to the fig tree, His challenge to the Chief Priests and the elders of the people about the baptism of the prophet John, and their rejection of His teaching, leads Yeshua to share a parable about a landowner and his tenants. In this teaching, Yeshua warns, the Chief Priests and the Pharisees in a parable directed at them and others, about what would happen to those who refused to recognize YeHoVaH’s ownership of His creation and their role in His Kingdom. In preparation for this teaching, Kingdom Eviction, please read Matthew 21:33-46.
The Transfiguration
July 31, 2021 • Arthur Bailey • Matthew 17:1–13
The Transfiguration of Messiah Yeshua is one of the most significant events in the life of our Savior. What happened during that event was a foreshadow of things to come that would impact all believers who put their faith in Messiah Yeshua. Peter, James, and John (the brother of James) had the fortunate privilege of witnessing The Transfiguration in order to declare what they saw to the disciples not present and all disciples of Messiah Yeshua, past, present and future. Several conversations ensued between some of those who were present that would confirm instructions Yeshua had revealed to His disciples prior to His transfiguration and point to what would take place in the days ahead. Join in with us as we join this powerful meeting and listen in to the discussion that took place during The Transfiguration and discover how this miraculous event prophetically signals the impact on all believers today. In preparation for this teaching, The Transfiguration, please read Matthew 17:1-13.
