God and Money, the Law and Marriage
November 19, 2022 • Arthur Bailey • Luke 16:1–18
Can a follower of the Messiah love God and love money? How can the people of the world be wiser than the children of light? What does the Messiah actually teach about the Law and marriage to New Testament believers who follow Him? In this portion of Luke’s Gospel, Yeshua tackles these questions and more as He teaches His disciples in the company of the Pharisees, Scribes, and the multitude of people surrounding Him. In preparation for the teaching, God and Money, the Law and Marriage, please read Luke 16:1-18.
Discerning the Times
October 8, 2022 • Arthur Bailey • Luke 12:35–59
Yeshua’s interactions with His Disciples in the midst of the multitude addressed various Treasures of the Kingdom. While teaching His Disciples, He also addressed the multitude who listened to His teachings and transitioned to speak on the signs of the times. Yeshua touched on being watchful, service according to the Master’s will, giving an account, and Judgment. In this portion of Luke’s Gospel, Yeshua gives additional insight on His advent and mission, making it clear what He came to do. Yeshua also shares the consequences of His coming, the family division that His teachings would bring, and the proper response to discerning the times. Kingdom Evangelism 101
August 13, 2022 • Arthur Bailey • Luke 9:1–17
Yeshua’s Disciples and Apostles had eyewitness accounts of Him exercising His Kingdom authority and power on a daily and consistent basis. All believers today, through the Gospel records, along with the Disciples and Apostles, witness firsthand the miraculous demonstrations of the power of the Holy Spirit manifesting through Yeshua. For several months, the Disciples and Apostles had followed Yeshua, listening to the messages He taught and preached to them and the masses, and now to us. The Apostles were trained in Kingdom Evangelism before they were ultimately commissioned and sent out in their Apostolic Ministries before Yeshua ascended, which was after His resurrection and forty-day Ministry. In this portion of Luke, all believers can learn valuable lessons directly from Yeshua as He sends His Apostles out to preach and demonstrate what they had learned thus far, and proclaim the Kingdom Gospel and the coming Kingdom of Heaven. In preparation for the teaching, Kingdom Evangelism 101, please read Luke 9:1-17.
Salvation, Death and the Resurrection
August 6, 2022 • Arthur Bailey • Luke 8:40–56
Biblical salvation has its foundation and is rooted in the Torah, the Law of YeHoVaH. Contrary to popular belief and religious traditions, the Gospel meaning and message of salvation is firmly established in the Old Testament Book of the Law. However, it is given a totally new meaning to New Testament Christians by their theologians and religious teachers. Likewise, death and the doctrine of the resurrection did not originate in the New Testament, but in the Old Testament. In this Teaching in Luke 8, Yeshua reveals one of the various meanings of salvation, demonstrates to His Disciples and us His power and authority over death, and illustrates what all believers who sleep have to look forward to: the resurrection. In preparation for the teaching Salvation, Death and the Resurrection, please read Luke 8:40-56.
A Spirit Filled Family
April 2, 2022 • Arthur Bailey • Luke 1:57–80
What it means to be Spirit Filled and the evidence of being baptized in or filled with the Holy Spirit has taken on various meanings in the different denominational ministries today. The work of the Holy Spirit, working through men, has been an important topic from the times of the people in the Old Testament, who prophesied under the influence of the Holy Spirit, to the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost and up until to this day. In the very first Chapter of Luke’s Gospel, the work of the Holy Spirit was made known to Zacharias by the announcement of the angel Gabriel concerning John the Baptist. Furthermore, the prophecy of John being filled with the Holy Spirit from his mother’s womb was fulfilled. In this portion of Luke, the work of the Holy Spirit is put on full display with the manifestation through the Priest Zacharias in the company of his wife Elizabeth, his relatives, and neighbors. In preparation for the teaching, A Spirit Filled Family, please read Luke 1:57-80.
Mary’s Prophecy and Elizabeth Prophesies
March 26, 2022 • Arthur Bailey • Luke 1:26–56
Luke’s writing contains events and accounts that no other Gospel records and covers the beginning of what would be considered the New Testament writings to the end of the Acts of the early Assemblies. Immediately after Luke gives his reasoning for writing his Gospel account, he provides fascinating insight to a private encounter and conversation that occurred in the Temple Holy Place between the Priest Zechariah and the angel Gabriel. Six months after the angel Gabriel delivered a prophetic word to Zechariah, Gabriel reveals himself to Mary, a virgin that had been espoused to a man named Joseph, and spoke a prophetic word to her directly from YeHoVaH. Mary was troubled by Gabriel’s initial greeting, but soon became excited by the news the angel shared with her about her future and about her Cousin Elizabeth’s condition. In preparation for the teaching, Mary’s Prophecy and Elizabeth Prophesies, please read Luke 1:26-56.
The Resurrection
February 26, 2022 • Arthur Bailey • Matthew 28:1–10
YeHoVaH demonstrated His Mighty Power in Yeshua’s life from the announcement of His birth, His early life in Egypt and Nazareth, protecting Him throughout His earthly Ministry, to the epic showdown between the Savior on the cross and satan which was on full display for the whole world to see. The worldly powers of King Herod, Pontius Pilate, the High Priest, the Sanhedrin, the religious leaders, nor the people were ever any match to the matchless power of YeHoVaH Almighty! Yeshua’s death on the cross as the King of the Jews and the Kingdom He brought to earth appeared to have come to an end as He breathed His last breath and declared “it is Finished”. Join us in the final Chapter of Matthew’s Gospel as all seemed to be lost as His disciples, who had hoped that He was the one who was going to redeem Israel, returned to normal life in despair and unbelief of what Yeshua had taught them about what would happen three days after His death. In preparation for the teaching, The Resurrection, please read Matthew 28:1-10.
Another Prophecy Fulfilled
January 22, 2022 • Arthur Bailey • Matthew 26:36–56
Last week in Part 2 of The Last Supper and Passover, we investigated further the conversation, dialogue, and language of the Gospel narrative of Matthew and compared statements made in the Gospel narrative of John to help determine and answer that very important question of whether the last supper Yeshua ate with His disciples was the Passover meal. We established a timeline of events that occurred while Yeshua and His disciples were together and discerned what was said and done as they shared their last supper together. After Yeshua and His disciples had eaten and done all that had to be done, according to prophecy, they went to the Garden of Gethsemane where another prophecy would be fulfilled. Yeshua was deeply troubled about the events that were about to unfold and sought a quiet place in the Garden where He would agonize in prayer for three solid hours. Yeshua’s disciples, whom He had instructed to watch and pray, after a very long day of teaching, eating, and ministry were very tired and struggled to stay awake. We will join Yeshua and His disciples in the Garden of Gethsemane as prophecy is being fulfilled in this teaching, Another Prophecy Fulfilled. In preparation for this teaching, Another Prophecy Fulfilled, please read Matthew 26:36-56.
The Last Supper and Passover
January 8, 2022 • Arthur Bailey • Matthew 26:17–36
Was the Last Supper Yeshua ate with His disciples on the night He was betrayed, the Passover meal commanded by the Torah or was it just that, Yeshua’s Last Supper with His disciples? Many people today seem to be confused about this event. As a result of their confusion, they argue, debate, and perpetuate their confusions causing babes in the faith to be confused, all because of a verse here or there containing statements Yeshua made to His disciples and interpretations of translators. In this portion of Matthew’s Gospel narrative, we will investigate the conversation, dialogue, and language of the Gospel narratives of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John to point out the important statements that will help determine and answer that very important question of whether the Last Supper Yeshua ate with His disciples was the Passover meal. In this teaching, we will join in with Yeshua and His disciples' discussions and discern what was said and done, as they shared their last supper together. In preparation for this teaching, The Last Supper and Passover, please Matthew 26:17-36.
