Head Coverings

Much controversy surrounds the subject of head coverings in Messianic and Non-Messianic Communities of Faith. Head coverings spoken of by Paul had to do with customs NOT Commands. However, many have applied the English definitions of covers and concluded that Paul was referring to a hat, a piece of cloth on the head of women, a prayer shawl, a wrap of some sort, a kipper, or a yarmulke.
According to Scripture, the High Priest and Priests were commanded to wear something on their heads when ministering to YeHoVaH. Wearing a head covering was customary for women, but not commanded. There are no explicit Commands for men, who are not Priests, or women to wear head coverings.
