YeHoVaH, who is righteous, gave righteous Laws to the nation of Israel to establish the Children of Israel as a righteous people that would distinguish them from the wicked nations that surrounded them. Righteous Laws required the fear of YeHoVaH to make righteous judgments, and those who lived by His righteous Laws would be rendered righteous. Wickedness, or unrighteousness in any form, is an abomination unto YeHoVaH resulting in condemnation, judgment, and the wrath of YeHoVaH. Amalek’s lack of fear of God was reflected in his treatment of Israel and ultimately resulted in the Amalekites being wiped out as a people.
