Gratitude is an attitude
November 20, 2022 • Brian Metz • Psalm 100:4, Psalm 95:1–2
Thanksgiving it’s a national holiday that currently Americans of all types have mixed feelings about these days. We have so many reasons to give thanks to God, and yet it is a far too rare practice for many. Complaining and grumbling come all too easily for us. Rather than look at what is lacking in our lives, may we learn to thank God in everything realizing that God owes us nothing and yet has graciously given us all things in Jesus Christ.
Psalm 95:1,2
Oh come, let us sing to the Lord;
let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!
2
Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving;
let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!
Enter his gates with thanksgiving,
and his courts with praise!
Give thanks to him; bless his name! Ps 100:4
I submit that there is a deep connection between Gratitude and joy. Thanksgiving is the key that unlocks the treasure trove of true gems of joy.
Remember
October 23, 2022 • Brian Metz • 1 Chronicles 16:12
Remember - Memory and being able to remember what God has done for us - historically and personally- is a gift from the Lord. As YHWH reminded the Israelites to remember their former bondage, we are to remember the grace that has delivered us from our bondage to sin. You have been saved by grace. Ephesians 2 helps remind us that God has rescued us in Christ.

Friendship
January 16, 2022 • Brian Metz • John 15:12–17
Friends - Jesus calls us his friends when we obey his commands - namely to love each other. True friendship calls us to lay down our life for our friends. It’s more difficult in this day and age to lay down our preferences and egos than to actually lay down our lives. Listen in as Pastor Brian preaches from John 15:12-17. Love, friendship, Jesus, friends
