This CityRise mission trip to Ecuador is organized in collaboration with One Heart Global Ministries (OHGM), an organization dedicated to impactful service and fostering community connections. Participants will arrive in Quito, Ecuador's vibrant capital, where they will spend the first night acclimating and preparing for the journey ahead. The next day, the group will travel to Riobamba, a scenic city in the Andean highlands, which will serve as the team's base for their mission activities.
The work on this trip will be a mix of community outreach and service. The team will distribute shoes to children in need, a gesture that addresses practical needs while bringing joy to the local community. Light construction projects will provide support to improve community infrastructure, while Vacation Bible School (VBS) sessions will create opportunities for children to engage in fun, faith-based learning activities. Additionally, medical outreach will allow participants to meet basic healthcare needs, offering tangible support to underserved populations.
Accommodations provided by OHGM are comfortable, ensuring participants have a secure and restful place to unwind after each day's activities. The weather in Riobamba is mild and pleasant, creating an ideal environment for outdoor work. However, participants should be mindful of the high altitudes in the region. Some locations may reach elevations of up to 14,000 feet, so adjusting to the thinner air will be crucial for a smooth experience. OHGM do provide an Oxy meter and Oxygen tank for those who may need it. Please check in with your trip leader if you have any questions.
This mission trip is about more than just the tasks at hand; it’s an opportunity to connect with the people of Ecuador, experience their culture, and be part of a transformative journey of service and faith while deeply connecting with those on the trip with you.
