This CityRise Mission trip is an exciting collaboration with Genesis Hope, a dynamic ministry located in Port Shepstone, South Africa. Genesis Hope is deeply committed to transforming lives in under- resourced communities through a wide range of impactful programs. Their ministry focuses on empowering individuals and families by addressing key needs in education, health, and personal development, all rooted in the love of Christ.

Genesis Hope operates various initiatives to serve the community, including community training and development programs that equip individuals with skills and resources to improve their quality of life. These programs aim to create sustainable change by empowering locals to take charge of their futures. Additionally, Genesis Hope runs sports programs that provide opportunities for children and youth in underprivileged areas to engage in healthy, team-oriented activities that promote physical well-being, discipline, and teamwork.

Education is another cornerstone of their ministry, with schools and after-school programs designed to support children’s academic and spiritual growth. These programs offer a safe and nurturing environment where students can receive tutoring, participate in Bible lessons, and build a strong foundation for their future. Genesis Hope also conducts medical outreaches, bringing much-needed healthcare services to communities that have limited access to medical resources. These initiatives often include health screenings, education, and practical support to improve overall community health.

Participants on this mission trip will fly into Durban, South Africa, a vibrant coastal city known for its cultural diversity and beautiful landscapes. From Durban, the team will travel south to Port Shepstone, where they will be based for the duration of the trip. While in Port Shepstone, participants will work alongside the dedicated staff of Genesis Hope, supporting their ongoing ministries and engaging directly with the local community.

This trip offers a unique opportunity to serve in a variety of capacities, whether through assisting with sports programs, helping in schools or after-school initiatives, participating in community development projects, or providing support during medical outreaches. Each team member will have the chance to use their gifts and skills to make a meaningful contribution, while also building relationships and learning from the vibrant culture and people of South Africa.
