Shortcuts That Short Circuit Movement (Part 1)
July 21, 2021 • Rebecca Ewing, Paul Watson
We all want to see a disciple making movement happen, but sometimes it's hard to wait for it! That's why we sometimes modify or skip steps in the process of disciple making. We could skip this Discovery Bible Study question, jump to that part of Scripture, or invite those people before they're ready. Today's episode addresses the common shortcuts that we as disciple makers easily fall into and why it's a bad idea to take them. If you seem to be coming up short in your disciple making, it could be because you're taking shortcuts. We've all been there. Listen to this episode to figure out how to avoid them or fix them if you've already taken them! Part 2 goes deeper into what to do if you've already taken some shortcuts.

How Disciple Making Conversations Are Different (Part 1)
May 4, 2021 • Rebecca Ewing, Paul Watson
Conversations. They're part of our everyday interaction, but there’s something unique about how we handle conversations that allow movement to happen. It takes some instinct shifts to reshape the way we approach people if we want to see multiplication. Maybe there's an alternative to arguing them out of their closely held beliefs or hoping they put their faith in Christ on the spot. In this episode, we go over four of those shifts. It's about inviting them to discover God in the Bible, not inviting them to church. It's about listening to people so you don't give them a cookie-cutter pitch. It's about long-term relationships, not one-time interactions. And it's about focusing on groups rather than stopping at individuals.
How Does the Gospel Change Culture
April 28, 2021 • Rebecca Ewing
Everyone says the Gospel changes everything. But what does that mean? Why aren't we seeing a significant change when people come to know God? It starts with our understanding of what the Gospel really is. In this episode, Beck Ewing helps us think about the big picture of the Gospel and how it should be changing every aspect of the culture we live in.
Retraining Your Instincts (Part 1)
April 13, 2021 • Rebecca Ewing, Paul Watson
Why haven't we seen movement in the USA like we've seen it in other parts of the world? Our instincts are off. We're seeing that people are often misapplying disciple making concepts or are falling back into their usual way of ministry. We need to retrain our old ways of making disciples when it comes to engaging non-believers, starting groups, meeting the needs of a community, mobilizing, and praying. Here's how!
