Lake Lure Men's Retreat

Lake Lure, North Carolina

September 12 - 16, 2024

Lace up your Hiking shoes and prepare for a walk with Christ.

The Pilgrim’s Progress (from This World to That Which Is to Come), was written by the Baptist preacher John Bunyan while he was in jail from 1660-1672. He had been imprisoned by the King of England for preaching the Word of God without a license. The book has become one of the most widely read in history and has been translated into over 200 languages.

The book follows the progression of the main character, Christian, as he progresses in his journey from the city of destruction to the celestial city. The story is an allegory presenting a picture of the Christian life, from the soul’s first awakening to the truth of the gospel, to salvation, through spiritual growth from babe in Christ to spiritual maturity, and to the ultimate destination, entrance into heaven.

Each one of us is a pilgrim in their own story on a journey with God. Over several days at Lake Lure we will explore the progression of the Godly man as he walks with the Lord toward spiritual maturity.

ISAIAH 35:8

A road will be there and a way;

it will be called the Holy Way.

The unclean will not travel on it,

but it will be for the one who walks the path.

Fools will not wander on it.
