Episode 2 - FORGIVENESS

Is Unforgiveness hindering your ability to move forward?

March 12, 2022 • Judith Hawkins, Neibra Williams • Matthew 6:9–13

In this second Friendly Discourse Virtual Seminar, Neibra and Judith explore the topic of forgiveness, a much needed and often rejected experience required for both personal and spiritual growth. How important is forgiveness? Important enough that Jesus taught in the model prayer, The Lord's Prayer, Matthew 6:9-13, that God forgives us in direct proportion to our granting forgiveness to others. At first glance, it may appear that forgiveness is about the other person--it's not! Forgiveness is primarily for us; it is the act of no longer giving permission to the person who wronged us to control and direct our journey to understanding! What is forgiveness not? Join the discussion and allow this virtual seminar to share new insights from old stories!

Episode 1 - SUBMISSION

March 12, 2022 • Judith Hawkins, Neibra Williams • Genesis

In our journey to understanding Biblical submission, we must first get our vertical relationship (with God) aligned before we can even think to get our horizonal relationship with our husbands adjusted. There must be less "I" and more "we.

Episode 3 - COMPROMISE

March 12, 2022 • Judith Hawkins, Neibra Williams • Genesis 2:17, Genesis 3

Good compromises result in “win-win” solutions, but in the spiritual realm, compromises never lead to a good outcome for the believer when it demands a weakening of one's core principles, based upon the Word of God. Those principles are non-negotiable. The price for yielding or giving in on matters of eternal value is too high, just consider the outcome of Adam and Eve’s eating from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and the resulting consequences (Genesis 2:17; 3:1-24). Each of us must develop our vertical axis (relationship with God) to successfully navigate the give and take of our horizontal (relationship with others). Prayer asking God to help us “factor in His will” becomes the touchstone of knowing the difference between “win-win” and “no deal” solutions. REVIEW Friendly Discourse Season #1

May 6, 2022 • Judith Hawkins

FRIENDLY DISCOURSE is a free Virtual Seminar hosted by experienced family law Attorney Neibra C. Williams and former Judge Judith W. Hawkins, whose ministry experiences include workshop presenter, teacher, motivational speaker, evangelist, spiritual enrichment expert, and author. During this four-part series entitled “Journey to Understanding,” Neibra and Judith’s Friendly Discourse examined submission, forgiveness, compromise, and freedom. The underlying premise is that each of these core principles is connected to and tightly interwoven with the other, so that a weakness in any one principle hinders us from achieving personal unity in thought, word, feeling, and action.
