Mrs. Manoah's story is not often shared, especially as a Mother's Day sermon, because her son, Samson, lived a life that could justly be described as a great disappointment based on the circumstances surrounding his birth, see Judges 13-16. But her old story gives us new insights about how to cope when our promised children disappoint us.
