Baptism is an outward sign that tells the story of God’s saving work in our life. For those who have put their faith in Jesus, baptism is the first step of obedience that recognizes God’s grace at work. It is an outward sign of the Spirit’s hidden inner work. It symbolizes our old self dying, our new self raised up from the water and united to Christ and his church.
