Romans 12:3-5: For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you. For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.

We all have different gifts and talents given to us by God, and we are all part of one body in Christ. We are to not think we are better than we actually are and to use our gifts and talents in accordance with the faith God has given us. We are all connected, and we all belong to each other. We should use our gifts and talents to serve one another and help build up the body of Christ. We should focus on serving and helping others, instead of thinking about ourselves. God has given you the gift you need to fulfill the plan He has on your life. Some of us sing well, and some of us sing…. sort of. Some of us, God has blessed with encouragement, and some of us need to work on it. Some of us are creative, and some of us create…. something that only God knows what it is. All that to be said, God has given you a gift. A need that can’t be filled without you. Let’s use these gifts and talents to serve and help others, and not think too highly of ourselves. Let’s be honest in evaluating ourselves and use our gifts and talents in accordance with the faith God has given us.

Pray:

God, Let us always see ourselves as belonging to one another. God, show me what my role and function is in the body of Christ. Make your global Church and our local Elevate Church be a healthy body, each member humbly doing their part. Father, help each of us at Elevate to guard our hearts against pride and self-serving attitudes. I pray that each ministry of our church would have an abundance of volunteers that seek you and know it’s all about Jesus.
