Women's Grace Groups: Tuesdays

Do you want to grow in understanding how to love and follow Jesus in community? Do you miss knowing and being known by others? "Grace Groups" are men and women discipleship groups. We will study The Gospel-Centered Life, which emphasizes how the Gospel shapes every aspect of our life. Each lesson features teaching from Scripture, a short article to read together, and discussion questions. Women's Grace Groups will start the week of September 15th. WOMEN GRACE GROUPS ARE NOW FULL.

Revelation Bible Study: Tuesdays

Looking to study God's Word together in community? Study the Letters to the Churches in Revelation 1-3. The study will be 9 weeks, starting the week of September 13. Paige Brown from West End Community Church in Nashville, TN will be our teacher via video. We will watch separately and gather in Westside small groups to discuss. This Tuesday study is co-ed and meets on Zoom.

1 John Bible Study: Tuesdays

The book of 1 John is a letter written to believers with the purpose of warning about the increasing threat of false teachings and to reassure Christians of their faith and love in Jesus Christ. John uses 3 themes: 1) The children of God believe in Jesus Christ 2) The children of God keep His commandments 3) The children of God love one another. This study is 8 weeks. There are Tuesday (Zoom) and Wednesday (in person) options. Both are co-ed. We will study together using Tim Keller’s study on 1 John.

Theology 101

Westside Co-working

Need a change of scenery with countless days spent working remotely? Starting the Sept. 9 we’re piloting a co-working space each Wednesday from 10-2 for the month of September! We'll brew up some coffee and will have room on the front patio, in the lobby, and at tables in the sanctuary for you to come work alongside other Westsiders. (Disclaimer: As much as we'd love to accommodate everyone, please come prepared to relocate if we are at capacity when you arrive) We can't wait to see some of you there!

Compassion (&) Conviction book study

As the election rapidly approaches, and the level of national division and rancor seems to correspondingly increase, how do Christians discern ways of engaging culturally and politically that pursues justice, the common good, and love of neighbor? How do we live in truth and out of love? We'll talk through these questions as we discuss the book Compassion (&) Conviction by Justin Giboney  The study will be 8 weeks on Wednesday Evenings starting 9/16/20 from 7:30-9pm. There will be in-person (safely socially distanced) and zoom options.

Sexuality Study

We will be doing a study composed by Preston Sprinkle to think through LGBT conversations in a biblical, gracious, and thoughtful way. We will only work through Grace/Truth 1.0 at this point (the first 5 sessions), but we can do Grace/Truth 2.0 in the future.  Study will be on Wednesday nights from 7:30-9pm starting on 9/16 for 5 weeks. There will be no class on 9/30

Lord of the Rings: Wednesdays

This fall, our group will read the Christian classic “Lord of the Rings.” We’ll discuss how the difficult circumstances of Tolkien’s life and his faith impacted his writing, and what his work has to say for our lives today. We’ll grow to understand the complicated history of Tolkien’s intricately crafted world. This group is for you whether you are new to Tolkien’s works or you are a learned master of Ringlore. Monday and Wednesday evening options

Preparing For Christian Marriage

Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Course

Eager to grow in emotional health and intimacy with the Lord? Emotionally Healthy Spirituality (EHS) is an 9-week journey to deepen your love and intimacy with the Lord. The class will explore the ways that God works through our families, suffering, and grief to understand ourselves, strengthen our love for the Father and send us out to love others.
