David & Goliath

January 22, 2023 • Blake Hudspeth • 1 Samuel 17:31–50

David would not allow a pagan to defy his God. He was jealous for the God of Israel. David had to rely on the past faithfulness of God to be willing to step into the battle with his greatest enemy yet. David knew God alone would defeat Goliath. He refused to wear another man’s armor, and simply relied on his own anointing. We must do the same. We cannot try to be someone we are not; we have to step into what God has called us to, trusting that He alone is enough.

Anointed for God's Work

January 15, 2023 • Jonathan Burgin • 1 Samuel 8:4–6, 1 Samuel 16:1–13

God always finds His man or woman. They are the ones that are built in the secret. They are the ones that have learned to walk in humility. They may be unassuming, barely detectable to mankind, but heaven recognizes them. To be marked by God is the greatest thing that could ever happen for an individual. David, the ruddy shepherd, could have run from Samuel, but he cooperated with God’s plan, and became anointed for God’s work.
