Corrine Marilyn Douty October 12, 1934 – November 13, 2024 Corrine Marilyn Douty, affectionately known as “Corky,” age 90, passed away of natural causes on November 13, 2024, in Meridian, Idaho. Corrine was born on October 12, 1934, in Seattle, Washington, moving to Idaho with her family as a young child. Corrine attended schools in Greenleaf, Idaho, completing her education at Greenleaf Friends Academy in 1952. Following high school, Corrine worked for Caxton Printers, in Caldwell, Idaho. A marriage in 1953, resulted in three beautiful daughters, Vickey, Debbie, and Connie. In 1958, Corrine married Hank Douty, and together they enjoyed raising the Douty girls, adding son Jim to the family in 1960. Early years were spent at a dairy farm in Greenleaf, where she collected gopher tails for extra income, pulling baby Jim behind tied in a wagon while the girls tagged along. Hank and Corrine moved to Boise in 1964 and became active members of Boise Friends Church. Corrine could be seen at the piano on Sunday mornings accompanying the congregation in those good old-time hymns. During this time, she was employed as the church secretary. Before retiring, Corrine went to work for the State of Idaho. After retirement in 1995, she and Hank enjoyed time with Volunteers on Wheels (VOW), and snowbirding in Yuma, Arizona. This was a special time of reuniting with former high school friends. Corrine enjoyed a variety of hobbies including birdwatching, gardening, embroidering, and sewing. Many family members benefited from gifts of her beautiful handiwork. Corrine was best known for her musical talents. A highlight for Corrine was playing piano for her beloved brothers as a member of The Emry Quartet. The group shared gospel music across the Treasure Valley. Corrine loved her family dearly. To this end, Hank and Corrine purchased land in Cascade, Idaho, in the early seventies. Corrine enjoyed spending time camping at “the lot” with her children, grandchildren, and large extended family. Days were filled enjoying the beauty of the land, walking, playing games, and collecting wildflowers with the grandchildren. Corrine was a gentle soul. True to her nature, she lovingly cared for Hank during his final years. Her kindness will be missed by all who knew her. With her passing, the children of Luther and Iva Emry are now rejoicing in heaven, together once again. The memories and legacy left behind will be celebrated for generations to come. Corrine is survived by her children Vickey (Dan) Gearring of Kuna, Debbie Douty of Nampa, Connie Douty of Meridian and Jim (Julie) Douty of Greenleaf; grandchildren Skee (Jake) Wood, Brady Gearring, Jackie (Nick) Lehman, Zach (Lauren), Douty, and Trevor (Brie) Douty; great-grandchildren Libertee (Dalton) Allen, Lily Wood, Lucas, Levi and Lyla Lehman, Brooklynn and Kimberly Douty, Daxton and Gracie Douty, with another great-grandchild due in March, and the first great-great-grandchild due in May 2025.
