In this special service, we reflect on the final payment for our sins in Jesus' death on the cross. "Tenebrae" is a Latin word meaning "darkness" or "shadows." During this service, the candles and lights in the sanctuary are slowly extinguished, and the service ends with a loud noise to represent the tomb being shut. We leave in silence, reflecting on the ultimate price paid for our sin.
