Help Us Fill the Tent
Off the Beaten Path invites our church family to help Fill the Tent on Sunday, October 4, from 9:30am–12:00pm.
Donations will support Off the Beaten Path and Street Reach of Johnston County, two ministries serving sheltered and homeless individuals throughout our community.
Shelter and survival items needed:
Two-, four-, or six-person tents
Tarps, 10' × 12' or larger
Sleeping bags and blankets
Backpacks, rope, cord, and string
Camp stoves, propane heaters, cookware, and utensils
16-ounce propane cylinders or 20-pound tanks—even empty tanks
Ponchos, rain gear, and emergency blankets
One- and five-gallon water jugs
Outdoor gear and durable, warm clothing in all sizes
Hoodies, scarves, gloves, socks, winter caps, footwear, waterproof jackets, face gaiters, and coveralls
Can openers and large or small trash bags
Food-bag items needed:
Pop-top canned or pouched meats, Spam, stews, and Beanie Weenies
Single-serving oatmeal, cereal, almonds, peanuts, and dried fruit
Small jars or pouches of peanut butter
Crackers and peanut butter crackers
Fruit snacks, applesauce, trail mix, and granola bars
Juice boxes and bottled water
Plastic utensils, napkins, and small hand sanitizers
Gallon- and sandwich-size zip-top bags
Items may be new, used, or even slightly damaged. Take a look through your attic, garage, or shed—you may already have something that could help a neighbor in need.
