BCC and Shrine Church will partner to support the overnight shelter housed at the former Starr Presbyterian Church at 13 Mile and Crooks in Royal Oak (enter parking lot off Crooks Road).

The volunteer positions in this sign up genius are evening "main floor attendants" from 6:30 PM to 11:30 PM and "overnight attendants" from 11:30 PM to 7:00 AM.  

There are also positions for leader during the evening and overnight. God has blessed us and provided resources for this mission for more than 30 years. We need your support starting February 2, 2025.

This years shelter supports and houses a maximum of 40 guests which is a mix of men and women. All of the guests have been accepted into the day time warming shelter and are known to the day time shelter staff. All guests have passed through the Welcome Inn protocols.  

BCC and Shrine volunteers will prepare an evening meal and other volunteers will stay at Starr during the evening and overnight hours essentially monitoring as attendants. The evening hours will naturally include conversation with the guests and simple hanging out. Each evening time slot and overnight time slot will have a "person in charge" with the titles of "main floor leader" and "overnight leader".
