A Cup of Purpose Tea

Women's Ministry Tea and Guest Speaker

May 2, 2026
1:00 - 2:30pm

Hey ladies! Let's ditch the sweatpants and sweatshirts and get fancy (ish!) for a “Cup of Purpose” afternoon tea event on Saturday, May 2, starting at 1:00 PM

We're talking good chats, yummy snacks, and a little friendly competition! Get your creative juices flowing for our Table Decorating Contest and rock your most awesome Hat or Fascinator for a chance to win bragging rights and a prize! Everyone in attendance will vote on their favorite table and headpiece.

We’ll also hear about impactful local mission, from a representative from Safe Berks (formerly Berks Women in Crisis). Safe Berks provides a safe haven and ongoing support system for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.

Here’s the plan:

1. Elect a “Table Host” and have them register your group for the tea. (Tables can seat 4, 6, 8 or 10 individuals.)

2. With your host, plan your table decorations (theme or no theme – your choice!) This can range from picnic style checkered placemats and napkins to porcelain teacups, frilly placemats and cloth napkins.

3. On the day of the tea, bring your table’s decorations and place settings (including cups for tea and some sort of tea pot for hot water), along with your favorite finger foods to share among yourselves at your table – think mini quiches, tiny sandwiches, sweet and savory scones or whatever your heart desires! The actual hot tea, cookies and fruit will be provided at a central table for all to enjoy. Table decorating begins any time after 11:30 AM on May 2.

4. Once we’ve taken our seats around the tables, we’ll open with a devotion and prayer, vote on the most creative table setting, and enjoy our snacks. A representative from Safe Berks will then share more about this organization.

5. The individual entrance fee is one $10-$25 gift card. All gift cards will be collected at the door and then be shared with Safe Berks to distribute to those in need. Gift cards can be for any local shop, gas station, restaurant, or grocery store, such as Walmart, Target, Kohls, Giant, Redners, Wawa, Dunkin, etc.

This weekend event is the perfect opportunity to relax, socialize, and enjoy quality time with other ladies while also supporting a worthwhile, local nonprofit organization. Feel free to invite your neighbors, family and friends – all are welcome. Register today and come ready to sip, chat, and make lasting memories. We can't wait to see you, in your tea attire at your special table, on May 2.
