At August Gate, we believe that Child Dedication is a time where parents commit to partnership with the church and its members in order to see their children grow to know, love, and follow Jesus. Sometimes this partnership lasts only a few years. Sometimes it last a child's entire season of growing up. Either way, raising your children to be disciples of Jesus was never meant to be done in isolation. We need God's help, and we need the help of His people. Child Dedication at August Gate is a time to acknowledge these needs and commit to pursuing them, not only as a family, but in this community and among these people as well. It's also a time for God's people to commit to walk along side you and help you seek Jesus in all things.

Because of these views, we strongly encourage parents to begin pursuing covenant membership before walking through Child Dedication.
