Know Him, Pt. 2 - Mighty God

As prophesied in Isaiah 9:6, the long-awaited Messiah was to be known as Mighty God, as "El-Gibbor". God is a mighty warrior, a champion God. And as we see play out in the life of Jesus, our Lord fits that description perfectly. As we go through chapters 7-12 of Luke's Gospel, we'll see the might of Jesus come alive in his mighty declarations, his mighty divisions, and his mighty decree!

If we want to celebrate Christmas for what it really is, we must know for certain what the holiday is about - primarily - the birth of the savior of the world. The four Gospel letters of the New Testament give us great insight into the life and ministry of Jesus Christ, and specifically, Luke's Gospel was written so readers could be certain of the things they've been taught about Jesus. In this series, we're going to survey Luke's Gospel to know Jesus as prophesied in Isaiah 9:6 - Wonderful Counselor, Might God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace. In this first part of the series "Know Him," we get to know Jesus as Wonderful Counselor.
