As we begin this new series "A Covenant People", we look at how God made covenants with his people throughout the Old Testament, how they all ultimately pointed to and were fulfilled in Jesus Christ, and how that affects how we are to relate with one another within the context of the local church. As Christians, we are free people! But much of Christian living is not expressly laid out in Scripture, at least not always in clear, concrete terms regarding all matters of life. In many cases, Scripture simply doesn't address certain issues specifically. Therefore, we're left with the task of applying certain biblical principles to help us wade through the gray areas of Christian living, always using our Christian liberty not for selfish gain or use, but to love and build up others.
