As we finish up our series this week on Our God: Steadfast, Immovable we are excited to dive into Psalm 103 with you. We invite you to read Psalm 103 in preparation for this weeks message.

God the Builder

November 15, 2020 • Phil Payne

This week at MLCC we continue our series and look at Psalm 127 – God is the Builder. In these uncertain times that we are facing, we all continue to work. We build our lives, our families and our businesses. How do we know if we are “laboring in vain”? How do we work hard and make sure we are not falling into the habit of depending on our work for our identity and purpose? It is God who wants to be actively involved in the building of our lives and our families. Take some time to read through Psalm 127 and join us as Phil leads us through the text focusing on God the builder.

Our God: The One Who Hears Us

November 8, 2020 • John Roberts

As we continue through our series “Our God: Steadfast, Immovable” we are focusing our attention in the Psalms this week on “Our God: The One Who Hears Us!” You could read multiple Psalms and get to the message that our God is a God who hears us and answers. We are going to start with Psalm 28, but also swerve into Psalm 40, Psalm 3, and Psalm 77. Take some time to prepare for worship this week by reading and meditating on these Psalms. We live in a time of stress and strife and it’s causing many anxiety and turmoil. It’s good to remember that we’re not alone… that God sees us… and that he hears us.

Our God

November 1, 2020 • Phil Payne

As we continue to explore God in the Psalms through our series: “Our God: Steadfast, Immovable” we’re looking this coming weekend at Psalm 46. It’s a Psalm of the Sons of Korah and in it they proclaim… “be still and know that I am God.” How do you work at being “still” or “knowing?” Sounds funny to think of “working” to be “still” but we live in a culture that’s moving at a rapid pace most of the time. Once in a while we need to be reminded to rest and be still in the presence of God who is anxious to know us and welcome us in. Join us as Pastor Phil leads us through Psalm 46 this week.

God My Rock

October 25, 2020 • John Roberts

It’s been a time of change and upheaval over the past months in many ways with all that’s going on around us. And it’s not just a local phenomena either. It’s just as challenging in most places around the world as it is here… with the possible exception of the election that’s looming. The good news in the midst of all that’s changing is that GOD… NEVER… DOES! While many of us are on the edges of our seats and navigating so many different and difficult challenges, be encouraged and reminded this morning that God is not nervous. No handwringing in the throne room of eternity. God isn’t surprised or confused… he’s not thrown off balance or displaced by any of what goes on around us. He is however, deeply interested in us in the midst of it. He’s fully aware, fully engaged… fully confident. We kick off this series in the Psalm 62 with David’s words, “For God alone my soul waits in silence… He alone is my rock and my salvation…” Be reminded, that in all that is swirling around us we have a firm place to stand and a God who stands above it all.
