What is AWANA? AWANA is an international, Bible-centered ministry founded in over 60 years ago by Christian men who saw a need for children to be reached with the good news of Jesus Christ. AWANA has grown from its beginnings in a church basement in the Chicago area into a ministry that reached over 2 million children around the world. Currently almost 30 thousand churches, spread in over 100 countries, use the AWANA program. AWANA stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed and is taken from 2 Timothy 2:15, “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.” The key focus of AWANA ministry is Scripture memorization, understanding and application. The AWANA handbooks clearly present the Gospel at an age-appropriate level, and initially focus on establishing a personal relationship between each clubber and Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. The memory work, Bible studies and other fun activities continue to carefully give each clubber a Biblical worldview by building up their Bible knowledge and instilling in them a love and respect for God and His Word. AWANA curriculum materials are designed to help parents and churches guide children in spiritual growth, and are based on the following master life threads: • Teaching respect for God and His Word • Building wisdom through Bible knowledge and understanding • Helping children and youth demonstrate grace in relationships • Giving them a sense of destiny and purpose • Encouraging them to see things from God’s perspective Age Groups What are the age groups? https://www.google.com/search?client=safari&sca_esv=0051b87ac2de4e52&channel=mac_bm&cs=1&q=puggles&sa=x&ved=2ahukewjxzjcwsj-paxuitdabhvkuok8qxccnegqidhab&mstk=autexfaagoknps75a55jrf-mr7fefzindtzhpvoht1uaymbaafde7opljmoi3ygmqprk7brnzh82h0hoc86nkirceqs5fmgqzjd29sif95t_58ykarabjnf1rqv-jg5lailmy08&csui=3: For 2-3 year olds, introducing biblical concepts and providing parents with resources for home teaching. https://www.google.com/search?client=safari&sca_esv=0051b87ac2de4e52&channel=mac_bm&cs=1&q=cubbies&sa=x&ved=2ahukewjxzjcwsj-paxuitdabhvkuok8qxccnegqidxab&mstk=autexfaagoknps75a55jrf-mr7fefzindtzhpvoht1uaymbaafde7opljmoi3ygmqprk7brnzh82h0hoc86nkirceqs5fmgqzjd29sif95t_58ykarabjnf1rqv-jg5lailmy08&csui=3: For 3-4 year olds (preschoolers), using sensory activities and fun to teach Bible truths and verses. https://www.google.com/search?client=safari&sca_esv=0051b87ac2de4e52&channel=mac_bm&cs=1&q=sparks&sa=x&ved=2ahukewjxzjcwsj-paxuitdabhvkuok8qxccnegqiebab&mstk=autexfaagoknps75a55jrf-mr7fefzindtzhpvoht1uaymbaafde7opljmoi3ygmqprk7brnzh82h0hoc86nkirceqs5fmgqzjd29sif95t_58ykarabjnf1rqv-jg5lailmy08&csui=3: For Kindergarten to 2nd graders, teaching foundational Bible truths and key Christian doctrines. https://www.google.com/search?client=safari&sca_esv=0051b87ac2de4e52&channel=mac_bm&cs=1&q=t%26t+%28truth+%26+training%29&sa=x&ved=2ahukewjxzjcwsj-paxuitdabhvkuok8qxccnegqiexab&mstk=autexfaagoknps75a55jrf-mr7fefzindtzhpvoht1uaymbaafde7opljmoi3ygmqprk7brnzh82h0hoc86nkirceqs5fmgqzjd29sif95t_58ykarabjnf1rqv-jg5lailmy08&csui=3: For 3rd to 6th graders, focusing on God's Word and training them to follow Christ Still have questions? We plan to Light up our community with the light of God’s love through this new Kids Musical. Our bright group of students has just arrived for Bible class, but a couple of things are missing…their teacher and LIGHT! With a note and a few wrapped boxes in a dark room, the students begin a unique lesson to discover just how significant light is and has always been, with each box representing a new object and a new Bible verse about light—starting from the very beginning of creation and continuing into Christ passing on the task of spreading His light to the world. With scripture-based songs and verses quoted throughout, Light It Up! is the perfect tool for instilling God’s word in the hearts of your young performers in addition to empowering those in the audience to continue the mission of being a light to everyone around us. Each song brings a new outlook on the ways Christ diminished the darkness when He gave us life through Him and initiates ways for us to illuminate His love to others.
The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever. – Isaiah 40:8 Life is full of choices, and God’s word is our guide, showing us how to walk with Jesus. At Student Life Kids Camp 2026, we are looking to Jesus’ parables to show us how to live with Him. Jesus teaches us to build our lives on a firm foundation, receive His forgiveness, and love others well. When we trust in Jesus and follow His Word, we can walk confidently, knowing He lights the way.
