We will have a short service led by guest preacher and Annandale UMC congregant Rev. Jerry Bruce. While Christmas Day is a story of joy and angelic acclaim, it wasn’t long after that King Herod felt threatened by the tales of a miraculous child, making plans to destroy him. In Matthew 2:7-16, today’s scripture reading, we hear of how an angel appeared to Joseph in a dream and warned him to flee with his family, and of how all the boys near Jesus’s age who were left behind were killed.

Music this week will be led by the congregation, joining our voices together in “Sing We Now of Christmas” and “Go, Tell It on the Mountain” from the hymnal. We’ll also have Wesley Vaughn singing a solo rendition of “All is Well.”
