So, what’s child dedication all about? We can see examples of families in Scripture dedicating their child to the Lord. Samuel was by his mother, Hannah, and Jesus was by Joseph and Mary, as well. Paul reminded Timothy that "from a child" he had known the sacred Scriptures. Jesus considered "the little ones" incredibly precious, and He said, "Permit the children to come to Me, do not hinder them; for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these." Dedicating a child acknowledges God's sovereignty not only over your child, but also YOU, the parents. You are presenting your child before God and His people, asking for grace and wisdom in carrying out your responsibilities.
