In Luke 19:45–48, the second temple cleansing happens during Jesus’ final week in Jerusalem, right after His triumphal entry. When He enters the temple, He finds people buying and selling and drives them out, saying the temple is meant to be a house of prayer, not a “den of robbers”—drawing on language from Isaiah 56:7 and Jeremiah 7:11. The moment shows His anger at how worship had been corrupted and His authority to confront it.
