Join us for a special time of remembering the death of Jesus and the events that led up to our Savior's great sacrifice on the Cross. The service will include worship, communion, and some creative elements. A part that may be new to many, Tenebrae, is Latin for "shadows" or "darkness." This type of service though has been practiced by the Church for centuries. We'll read parts of the Passion story, the events leading to Christ's death, blowing out candles after each part to signify the darkness of the suffering that Jesus endured. After all of the candles are extinguished, we'll have a time of silent reflection/prayer, and then exit the Worship Center silently. It will be a powerful time where we'll reflect on the betrayal, abandonment, agony, and suffering that Jesus endured for our sake. The suffering of Thursday and Friday anticipates the glory of Sunday (the Resurrection)! Childcare will be provided for infants - young 5s with advance sign-up.
