Jacob, nearing death at 147, expresses his desire to be buried in Canaan and elevates his grandsons Ephraim and Manasseh to the status of full sons, granting Joseph a double portion of the inheritance. Despite his failing eyesight, Jacob intentionally blesses Ephraim over Manasseh, prioritizing the younger son, and bequeaths a mountain slope to Joseph, anticipating the family's return to Canaan.
